Greg Goldberg is a seasoned litigator with nearly two decades of experience serving a broad range of clients. His litigation practice concentrates on commercial controversies, including pre-litigation dispute resolution, jury and bench trials, as well as mediation and arbitration. Greg has deep subject-matter expertise in the rules of court and code of civil procedure and how to make use of those tools to his clients’ advantage.

Greg’s clients range from individuals to trade associations to small businesses and large corporations. He is a trusted advisor and advocate in the entertainment industry, representing managers, producers, production companies, and creators. Greg also has extensive experience defending public companies in the energy sector and representing professionals in malpractice claims. Greg serves as ex oficio general counsel for not-for-profit organizations in the office technology sector. Greg is an accomplished presenter and panelist. Clients describe Greg as a strategic thinker and talented advocate.  

Greg is licensed to practice law in California, New York, Illinois, and Missouri. He has been recognized for many years as a Super Lawyer Rising Star. In 2019, Legal Aid Chicago awarded Greg Volunteer of the Year honors through its pro bono partnership with Katten.

Prior to joining Barta | Goldberg, Greg managed the Litigation Services department at the flagship office of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP in Chicago, IL. Prior to that, Greg was a partner in the law firm of Stamos & Trucco LLP, also in Chicago.

Greg is a 2002 graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., earning a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with minors in business and English. Greg graduated from the George Mason University School of Law in 2005. In law school, Greg served as a Legal Writing Fellow and as Managing Justice of the Moot Court Board. He is a proficient Spanish speaker and conversant in Portuguese.
